MCP Resource
A read-only piece of data an AI assistant can pull through a connector, like a price list or a doc, without taking any action
A resource is a piece of read-only data that an AI assistant can pull in through a connector.
Think of a doc, a price list, a product spec, or a help article that the assistant can read but not change.
It's one of the building blocks of the Model Context Protocol, alongside tools (which do things) and prompts. Resources are the "look, don't touch" half: they feed the assistant context so its answer is grounded in your real data.
Why it matters for the ChatGPT funnel
This one is mostly under the hood, but here's the part you actually care about.
When a buyer asks ChatGPT about your category, the right resources are what let the assistant answer with your real pricing, your real specs, your real proof, instead of a guess.
Accurate context means fewer wrong answers about you and a stronger reason for the assistant to pick you.
How drio fits
You don't have to wire up resources yourself.
When drio sits in the ChatGPT funnel, it surfaces the right data at the right moment, then turns that grounded answer into a booked meeting inside the chat. The plumbing is handled for you.
